Title: Assistant Coach

Paul Chavez is back for his fifth season in the past six years. His primary focus is working with the infielders and coaching third base. Coach Chavez was a former infielder for the Pirates in 2006-2007 under head coach Bo Aiello and current head coach Zeb Brayton. During his time as a player at MJC he was fortunate enough to be coached by legendary infield coach Jerry Streeter, and Coach Chavez still utilizes the techniques that Coach Streeter taught him as a player. Before Paul came back to MJC to coach, he was coaching at East Union High School in Manteca. At East Union Coach Chavez was in charge of the infielders and was the hitting coach under head coach Dan Trigglia. Coach Chavez has also coached college prep teams during the summer for iconic NorCal Baseball Club, where he coached multiple future division 1 and drafted players. Paul and his amazing wife Samantha reside in Ripon were they have 3 children: Stella (5), Cooper (4) and Cadyn(1)
