Title: Assistant Coach

Joe Peterson enters his third year as an assistant coach with the Pirates in 2020. His primary responsibilities are coaching the hitters and outfielders. 

Coach Peterson played 4 years of college baseball.  He played for 2 years (1976 - 1977) at Modesto Junior College for Coach Jerry Streeter and 2 years (1978 - 1979) at Cal State Stanislaus for Coach Jim Bowen.  Joe's desire to coach baseball comes from the many baseball and life lessons he learned from those great coaches.  For the past 17 years he has worked as an assistant coach.  He coached for 4 years at Central Catholic High School and for the last 13 years he was at Oakdale High School.  All four years he was at Central Catholic, they won the Section title.  While at Oakdale High School, they won six section titles.  Coach Peterson brings his passion for the game of baseball to his position as assistant coach for the Pirates.  His desire to help student athletes achieve their goals is what drives his dedication.  He brings his passion for the game, an abundance of baseball experience and a desire to win.
