Dean and Conte Capture Conference Doubles Title for MJC
The Modesto Junior College men's tennis team celebrated a major achievement this past weekend as sophomores Nathin Dean and Jack Conte claimed the conference doubles championship at American River College.
The duo, both products of Sonora High School, delivered an outstanding performance on Saturday, showcasing chemistry, precision, and composure throughout the match. Dean and Conte played what coaches described as a near flawless contest, defeating a strong American River College team in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2.
From the opening serve, the pair controlled the tempo with aggressive net play and consistent baseline shots. Their ability to communicate and anticipate each other's movements proved to be a key factor, allowing them to dominate rallies and keep their opponents on the defensive.
The victory marks a significant milestone for the MJC program, highlighting the development and leadership of its sophomore class. For Dean and Conte, the conference title is a fitting reward for their hard work and dedication, as well as a memorable way to cap their time competing together.
