Marcus Madoski Wins NorCal Decathlon Title
Freshman Marcus Madoski cruised to the NorCal Decathlon title, scoring a personal best 6586, on Wednesday afternoon to help give Modesto an early lead in men's track and field competition.
Freshman Marcus Madoski delivered a dominant all-around performance to claim the Decathlon title with 6,586 points, leading Modesto Junior College to an impressive showing.
Madoski set the tone early, winning multiple events including the 100m (11.03, 854 pts), shot put (11.97m, 605 pts), high jump (2.03m, 831 pts), 400m (49.67, 830 pts), and discus (41.23m, 690 pts). His consistency across the first day built a commanding lead that he maintained throughout the competition.
He added strong marks in the long jump (6.45m) and pole vault (3.83m) to stay ahead of the field. Despite a tougher finish in the 1500m, Madoski's early dominance secured the overall victory.
