MJC Men’s & Women’s Track & Field Claim Fourth Straight Big 8 Conference Titles
Excellence continues to define Modesto Junior College Track & Field, as both the men's and women's teams captured the Big 8 Conference Championships for the fourth consecutive year. The historic sweep reinforces MJC's position as one of the premier programs in California community college athletics.
From sprints to distance, and from jumps to throws, the Pirates delivered a complete team performance built on depth, consistency, and standout individual efforts. Athletes across both squads contributed crucial points, showcasing the program's balance and commitment to excellence in every event group.
The men's team set the tone early with strong finishes on the track and dominant performances in the field events, steadily building a lead that proved insurmountable. Meanwhile, the women's team matched that intensity, delivering clutch performances throughout the meet to secure their fourth straight conference crown.
This milestone speaks not only to the talent on the track, but also to the culture of hard work and accountability that has been established within the program. Year after year, MJC continues to reload with student-athletes who embrace competition and rise to the occasion when it matters most.
Winning one conference championship is an achievement. Winning four in a row is a statement.
The Pirates now set their sights on the postseason, traveling to Monterey Peninsula College for the NorCal Championships on Friday, May 1–2. With momentum on their side, MJC looks to carry its championship form into the next stage and continue building on an already remarkable season.
