The Modesto Junior College men's and women's track and field teams made history with a dominant showing at the 2026 3C2A NorCal Championships, as both programs captured team titles for the first time in school history. The women's team surged to the top with 127 points, comfortably ahead of American River (88) and Monterey Peninsula (73), showcasing exceptional depth across the meet. Not to be outdone, the MJC men's team claimed the championship with 110 points, holding off strong challenges from San Joaquin Delta (85) and American River (82). The historic sweep marks a defining moment for the Pirates program, highlighting the strength, balance, and competitive excellence of both squads on one of the biggest stages of the season.
MJC's success was fueled by an impressive group of NorCal champions who delivered standout performances. On the men's side,
Levi Perez won the hammer throw with a mark of 53.10m;
Marcus Madoski cleared 2.10m in the high jump to move to No. 2 all-time at MJC,
Jayden Scarver captured the 400m title in 48.32, and
Sean Forte-Richard sprinted to victory in the 200m (21.37), ranking ninth all-time. The women were equally dominant, led by
Claire Pierce, who repeated as NorCal champion in the pole vault (3.70m), and
Julia Pedretti, who won the shot put (12.96m) and now ranks sixth all-time. The 4x100m relay team of
Jayme Soares,
Shaylan Roy-Williams,
Jada Orona, and
Ava Torres raced to victory in 47.43, while
Shaylan Roy-Williams delivered a sensational double, winning both the 100m (11.29) and 200m (23.80) while moving to No. 2 all-time in both events. Next, all qualifying athletes will advance to the State Championships
