Men's Water Polo All-Americans
Multiple Modesto Junior College Men's Water Polo players were recognized on the national stage, as five Pirates earned All-American honors for their outstanding performances this season. Jack Fischer, Alex Castillo, and Holden Puccinelli were named First Team All-Americans, highlighting the strength and depth of MJC's roster, while Ben Svoboda and Keanu Laolagi earned Second Team All-American honors. The selections reflect both individual excellence and the continued success of the Pirates' men's water polo program.
First Team honoree Jack Fischer anchored the defense in goal, finishing the season with 262 goals against and 244 saves overall, while posting an impressive 48.2 save percentage that climbed to 54.8 percent in conference play. Alex Castillo led the offensive attack with 110 total points, scoring 69 goals and adding 41 assists, along with 42 steals and eight exclusions drawn. Holden Puccinelli also made a major impact, recording 56 points on 46 goals and 10 assists, while drawing 18 exclusions. Together, these performances powered MJC throughout the season and earned the Pirates well-deserved national recognition.
Second Team honoree Second Team All-American Ben Svoboda delivered a strong all-around season, appearing in 32 games and totaling 99 points on 49 goals and 50 assists. Svoboda was also a defensive presence with 49 steals, while adding four exclusions drawn and just three exclusions overall. Fellow Second Team honoree Keanu Laolagi was one of the Pirates' most productive offensive players, finishing with a team-high 113 points, including 61 goals and 52 assists. Laolagi added 42 steals, drew eight exclusions, and committed only one turnover all season, underscoring his efficiency and impact on both ends of the pool.
