Hackley and Pedretti with Strong Performances for the Lady Pirates
Freshman Larissa Hackley and sophomore Julia Pedretti delivered strong performances for Modesto Junior College, placing 3rd and 4th respectively in the NorCal Heptathlon.
Hackley led the way with 4,135 points, highlighted by standout marks in the 200m (26.12, 787 pts) and 100m hurdles (15.63, 760 pts), where she placed among the top finishers. She also added a solid high jump (1.52m) to maintain her position near the top throughout the competition.\
Pedretti followed closely with 4,030 points, powered by a 1st-place finish in the shot put (12.39m, 687 pts)—the top mark of the competition. She also contributed a strong 800m (2:36.03, 619 pts) to close out the event.
Both athletes showed consistency across all seven events, helping Modesto JC secure two top-four finishes. Hackley's speed in the sprint events and Pedretti's strength in the throws proved to be a strong combination for the program.
